Two paths. Take the one you came to law school for.

Big Law summer programs are a good fit for some students. If you came to law school to fight for workers, this path puts you on real cases sooner, closer to the client, with an attorney reading every draft.

  1. Big Law: Mostly corporations and institutions, including employers defending workplace claims.

    Who you represent

Workers, and only workers. Employees with workplace claims and injured workers seeking compensation.

  2. Big Law: Research and writing on pieces of large matters, often rotating between practice groups.

    The work you do

Drafting on active cases from your first week: demand letters, discovery, research memos, and motion sections.

  3. Big Law: Exposure varies. Summer associates usually observe from within large case teams.

    In the room

Sit in on depositions, mediations, and hearings, and join calls with the clients you are fighting for.

  4. Big Law: Large teams, with the partner on a matter often several layers away.

    Your team

Small case teams. You work directly with the attorney handling the case.

  5. Big Law: Formal midsummer and end-of-summer reviews.

    Feedback

A named supervising attorney and written redlines on your drafts, all summer long.

Where this path leads

Next stop: an associate role at EFLL.

Strong Fellows can be considered for one, and our high‑performing associates can out‑earn their Big Law counterparts.

Your summer, up close

  • Three Employees First Labor Law attorneys talking through a case

    You draft on live cases

Demand letters, discovery, research memos, and motion sections on cases that are moving right now. Your work goes into the file, not a practice folder.

  • Employees First Labor Law attorneys in conversation outside the office

    You are in the room

Sit in on depositions, mediations, and hearings, and join client calls. You see how a case is actually won.

  • Employees First Labor Law attorneys walking together

    Someone reads every draft

A named supervising attorney and written redlines on your drafts, all summer long. You leave a good better writer than you arrived.

The people we fight for

You came to law school to help people. Spend your summer doing it.

Corporations count on the people they wrong having no one in their corner. This summer, you’re in their corner.

  • Farmworkers
  • Warehouse workers
  • Nurses
  • Builders
  • Line cooks
  • Drivers
  • Custodians
  • Security officers

Who the Fellowship is for

  1. You came to law school to make the case to a jury. Spend your summer learning how it’s built.

  2. You came to law school to research, write, and persuade. Spend your summer doing all three.

  3. You came to law school to hold employers accountable at scale. Spend your summer doing it.

Every right a worker has was won by someone willing to fight for it. This summer, that’s you.
